pizza, pizza!

January 10, 2011

On Friday night Barber (who got to spend the week in Tallahassee!!!) and I were meeting friends at a bar around 10. We tried to go to a restaurant early in the evening but there was an hour wait… No thanks. We had to return some DVD’s to Publix and inevitably we ended up wandering down the aisles in search of something.

Publix has this really neat feature where everyafternoon/evening they set up a little stand a make some sort of dinner that customers can taste test. They also put all of the ingredients and a recipe card for the dinner right next to the stand. We wandered by the stand and the Friday feature was homemade pizza! We sampled two tiny pieces each, looked at each other and walked straight to the cooler with the pre-made dough. Done and done.

So easy, quick and delicious.

First spread your dough — we added sauce, spinach….

Tomatoes, onions….

Cheese — And voila!

We probably could have done with a little less cheese and sauce… Haha. Now we know! Seriously though — the dough cost $1.97 and I happened to have everything else — SO cheap!

I loooved Publix when Craig and I were in florida for Springbreak a couple years ago. I wish we had those in Missouri! I loved the wine section, and how they broke things up into “this is good with chicken” or “this is good for fish” or “pasta” etc etc. We played in the wine aisles for seriously 30 min each evening haha.
