Have you heard the news? There’s a new astrological zodiac sign! I stumbled upon this news via Twitter and decided to look it up. I wasn’t all that excited until I learned that Ophiuchus, the new sign, happens to land smack on my birthday! Excuse me?! I’m not a Sagittarius anymore?! Ummmm, I’ve already got jewelry with the turquoise stone it it (better than a tattoo at least!)
I’m just kidding — I’m not that upset. I’ve found two varying date definitions. Some sites say that Ophiuchus falls from Nov 29. – Dec. 17th (my birthday) and Sagittarius begins Dec. 18th. Although most of the sites say that Ophiuchus ends on the 17th and Sagittarius begins on the 17th. Soooo… I either have two zodiac signs or one new one. Could some one figure that out please.
“The 13th sign of the zodiac, unlike the other 12 signs is actually associated with a real person. In the 27th Century BCE in Ancient Egypt lived a man known as Imhotep. Imhotep was known as ‘Aesclepius’ by the Ancient Greeks, however the attributes are the same under either name.”
This guy is also a constellation and as you might discern from the picture, has something to do with snakes… No thank you.
Although some astrologers are choosing not to include this zodiac sign in their horoscopes here’s a quick list of the attributes of a person that’s an Ophiuchus.
- A seeker of wisdom and knowledge
- Many people are jealous of this person
- Tends to go for the more flamboyant in dress sense, favouring bright colours.
- Authority looks upon him well.
- Would make a great architect or builder.
- Number 12 is this persons lucky number.
- This person will have a big family but leave home at an early age.
Two of these stand out at me — I’m not sure I would use the word flamboyant… perhaps at times eccentric, unique? And definitely bright colors! Also, number 12 — My soccer number all through high school and college! (And of course I think authority looks good on me… haha).
Who knew? Apparently this addition has something to do with the Earth moving and the sun being in a different solar system? My world was too rocked to get in to details.
