It’s almost February?!

January 28, 2011

Wow! If anyone’s free to move down here and be my all time editor, picker upper, laundry doer, printer, chef and errand runner I’ve got an extra 20 square feet I could probably spare (will that fit a bed?). Phew — School kinda came out no where this semester. One day I was frolicking around snowy Missouri and then bam, I was in class. (I guess you could argue I had a solid 14 hour car ride to prepare….?)

Anywho — I think I’m starting to get in to a rhythm of sorts. This semester is way busier — more reading, more writing and I’m now teaching two section of public speaking to undergrads which is fun and interesting. :)

I took a 25 minute break (literally) a few days ago because my sewing machine had been sitting so quiet and lonely and seemed to be calling me. I whipped out another little project from le sewing class — a zipper pouch!

Not that exciting?! You don’t see the possibilities… I’m thinking ruffles and wrist strap makes a little clutch. Slightly bigger and with oil cloth instead of fabric would be a nice make up bag, no? I just love how quick and easy it was and now I’m just waiting on a trip to JOANNs for more zippers!

Don’t mind the wonky Hawaiian fabric with mismatched lining — I like to practice with fabric scraps so as not to ruin anything I love.

And a little cuteness for your Friday….

*disclaimer — yes I am busy — but I do realize there are people a trillion times busier, i.e. – people with kids, real jobs, etc. :) Also don’t mistake my request for a ‘helper’ as a complaint — I love being busy and school and don’t really mind the big pile of laundry… I just wouldn’t mind a few extra minutes to sew and do crafts now and then. :)

i have been to Joanns like 50 times in the past week. I will let you know the next time I go (probably next week, I bought their whole stock of S letters so I am waiting for them to restock so I can buy the rest) if you want to ride with!

As a fellow graduate student, I concur! Personal assistants would be great. :) Love the crafting!
